About ClearScript
ClearScript is a simple tool for getting readable transcripts from YouTube videos.
YouTube is great when you want to watch a video. Sometimes, you just need the words.
ClearScript was built to make that part simple. Paste a public YouTube link and, when a transcript is available, ClearScript turns the video's captions into a clean, readable transcript with timestamps.
You can read the transcript directly, copy the text, or download it as a TXT or SRT file.
Why ClearScript?
ClearScript is designed around a straightforward idea: getting a transcript shouldn't require creating an account, navigating through unnecessary steps, or dealing with a complicated interface.
The goal is to make the process quick, readable, and useful for things like research, note-taking, accessibility, studying, and reviewing video content.
How it works
- 1
Paste a YouTube link
Enter the URL of a public YouTube video.
- 2
Get the available transcript
ClearScript retrieves an available caption/transcript and presents it with timestamps.
- 3
Read, copy, or download
Use the transcript directly or export it as TXT or SRT.
A note about transcripts
Transcript availability and accuracy depend on the captions available for each YouTube video. Some videos may not have an accessible transcript, and automatically generated captions can contain mistakes, particularly with accents, background noise, music, slang, or fast speech.
ClearScript presents the available transcript as provided by its underlying caption source and does not guarantee that every transcript is perfectly accurate.
Built for simplicity
No account is required to use ClearScript. The interface is intentionally focused on one thing: helping you get from a YouTube link to a usable transcript without unnecessary complexity.
